Bianca DeAngelis, a woman in her mid-thirties, is ready to have a baby, but when she brings up the idea to her husband, he promptly divorces her, leaving her alone with their dog. She's just getting used to the idea of being single when she meets John Bennington, a former lawyer who shows up in Pennsylvania aiming to become a high school football coach. John has just gone through a divorce of his own, and without any sense of firm direction, he's set out to find a new one. When he botches up an appointment and gets caught in a winter storm, he is lucky enough to meet Bianca, who calls for a tow truck.
