Arok Aleu is a South Sudanese by birth and an Australian by naturalisation. He was born in the former Province of Upper Nile in Jonglei - Twic East County. During the Sudanese second civil war he went to Ethiopia where he commenced his primary education, Kenya and finally resettled in Australia where he received BSW from the University of Tasmania.




When he resided in Kenya (Kakuma Refugee Camp) Arok was much involved in editing, writing and teaching Di?t (songs) ke Ji????? ku Thu??jä? for more than nine years. He was one of the contributors and editors of Lokku tue? në Thu??jä? - a book that containing short stories of Ji?????. He helped in interpretation and translation of English to Thu??jä? for Thu??jä? speakers.




He is currently working on other Thu??jä? works, including Ji????? short stories and a bit longer book; CIE?, DÖK KU YATH:

Piath ku yic thieek de Cie? de Tuïc.

In which he inquisitively explores Tuïc social values and other aspects of Ji????? worldviews that are ingrained in Ji????? cultures which are usually expressed through the usage of Thu??jä?. How its creative powers are controlling people's everyday life including their thinking, perception, self-understanding, interpretation and how they interact and relate to their environment.
