The fourth novel in the Journey Home series, NO MORE STRINGS continues the saga of Gideon Taylor, a Federal surgeon who practices medicine in a small Southern town after the Civil War. In this novel Gideon tries to stave off an epidemic in town, drawing on his field hospital experiences as he struggles to contain the disease outside of town. Successful at last, he confronts a new obstacle when two Confederate soldiers come to town, forcing him to deal with strings still tying him to the war. Breaking free finally with "no more strings,", he anticipates being wed to Abigail Lawrence.
