A strange and unexpected discovery has Devyn and Lady Shey concerned about their fates and the fates of all those they have worked to save. Meanwhile, Kelle and Bren find themselves in trouble as they search for a way to undo a mistake. The enemy makes a bold move toward securing power for themselves and Lady Shey is forced to confront her past as a result. Finally, faced with little recourse, Devyn is required to travel to an ancient land of unspeakable evils to search for an ancient tome written by dragons.
