A WW1 Centenary novel Poppy Moss doesn't want to be at Hadleigh Hall, but it's the summer holidays, July 2014. The folks are out, and with her recent past still biting at her ankles, she's not going to be left on her own - even if she'd prefer it that way. Tariq is quite happy to be at Hadleigh, yet with a puzzle to solve and a promise to keep, staying out of the eagle eyes of the staff can be tricky. Then there's Robbie, perfectly content with his work and watching the goings-on up at the big house from a safe distance. War is rumbling in the distance, and 1914 is difficult enough already, without love, friends and pineapples causing issues. All three lives are about to change forever, in ways that nobody could have foreseen.
