Corrupted with a disease that feeds on his cruelty and arrogance, Dill Dervish understands the nature of evil all too well. His past as a Preacher within the mystical Order has left him jaded towards a life he once loved. When forces once again begin to mount against him, Dill finds himself unable to act as judge and jury as he once did. Especially when faced with the conniving Mine who tests him as no woman or man has before. Stuck between doing what is right and escaping to freedom, Dill needs to find his lost faith to save a city of innocent souls. But the city isn't without its own power. A place of strangeness and beauty, Erstwhile isn't about to be conquered by the dark conjurors called the Chaotic. As Dill soon learns, the city is the ideal battleground for good and evil.
