Considered by many to be the state's oldest permanent English settlement, Wethersfield is referred to in the Connecticut Code of 1650 as "ye most Auncient Towne." The town was established on the Connecticut River in 1634 and boasts a well-documented Colonial history, as well as an enviable array of historic homes and public buildings that illustrate three centuries of community life.
