The author was the youngest of the seven offspring of Bud and Bertha DeLapp. The teachers knew the last four as Glen, Perry, Jean, and David, but they grew up branded by neighbor Granny Renner as Bub, Babe, Dump, and Chip. All he ever heard as a kid was "When are you ever going to grow up?" He finally did. So herein is his life as selected for him and by him for the next 86 years; his work, play, family, friends; Gervais, Korea, and Colton; near-death farm accident, and through a 50-year real estate career. He has omitted the boring parts, but let the chips fall where they may. Chip's "chips off the old block" of his life may make you smile.
