The Gerrymander is used by politicians to provide an electoral advantage for a political party or class by manipulating the boundaries of an electoral district. In the United States, congressional districts are normally redrawn by each state after every national decennial census. Because of excessive gerrymandering by both parties, congressional delegations in many states do not represent the political views of the people of that state. This has led to districts where congressmen can hold and vote for extremist positions without fear of being turned out at the next election. In such cases, there is not room for compromise and the problems of the nation go unsolved. The author proposes a solution to this problem and illustrates how the solution will lead to a more cooperative, representative and less extreme Congress
