Annie Weissman has been telling stories for over 30 years, and has been teaching others how to tell stories for almost as long. Here, she gives beginning storytellers step-by-step guidance in getting started (criteria for selection, learning the story), presenting a story (voice, pace, dialects, facial expressions, sound effects, audience participation), using proverbs to tiptoe into storytelling and integrating storytelling into school curriculum (social studies, mythology, tall tales, math and language arts).
