From the time we were toddlers, many of us have benefited from the soothing effects of coloring. The rhythm of moving a hand over the page relieved stress and provided a sense of calm. Choosing complementary colors reflected our personality and creativity. Displaying our work or giving it as a gift taught us pride in accomplishment and joy in a job well done. The same benefits apply to us in adulthood. With the fast pace of society and the increase of technology, we all need some down time to release stress and relax our minds.
