To Kill the Russian President

The young KGB agent leaves Chechnya in a hurry as the Russian Empire collapses. He leaves behind a pregnant Chechen woman. The son born to the Chechen woman grows up bullied and shamed. The woman, relentlessly pressed by her bastard son, finally admits that she believes him to be the current President of Russia. The son is incredulous, but comes to believe his mother. He goes off to Moscow State University to study computers--and figure out a way to kill his father. Michael Stuart is called upon by a member of the Russian President's Security Team to help them find who is trying to hack into the President's electronic equipment. He communicates with his Russian security contact through the computer game World of Warcraft. He is kidnapped and seduced by members of the Russian Opposition. Seemingly successful, he returns to his university. He is then recruited by the new Cyber Command of the Defense Department. His actions bring into the scrutiny of both his University Regents and the State Governor. He successfully negotiates these conflicts only to learn that the Russian President has been assassinated. The young assassin goes on the run to the clans of the Caucasus. The son aligns himself with the Chechen rebels in an attempt to bring the Russian Bear to heel. Michael uses his contacts to help locate the assassin who holds the Russians hostage by threatening to blow up their oil fields. The end comes with the tragedy of sectarian conflict.
