In the near future, the first practical faster-than-light spacecraft is developed. Soon after, USS Resolute is sent into her first voyage into interstellar space. Aboard the superluminal research vessel, Captain Rick Corbett and his first officer, a fully sentient Gen-V AI known as Alice, face challenges and mysteries previously unknown to man. Soon, tensions begin to rise and conflict threatens to tear their team apart. Can they make their way to Alpha Centauri - and what awaits them there?
