A Discreet Gentleman of Discovery

Christiania, Norway 1720Brander Hansen lost his hearing at age seven and his inheritance at twenty-three. Furious at his father's betrayal, Brander bolts to Christiania and sets himself up as "a discreet gentleman of discovery." He solves crimes for money, mostly bad debts and stolen property, until he stumbles across a serial killer. While escorting the Baroness of a bankrupt estate to his estranged and unsupecting younger brother for an arranged marriage, Brander realizes he is following the serial killer's path across southern Norway. Brander delivers the bride and then sets out to bring the killer to brutal justice. When he succeeds and returns to his brother's home, Brander must decide if he is man enough to face his own fears and claim the Baroness and her estate as his own.
