Elucidating Alice: a Textual Commentary on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Marc Notes: This textual commentary looks at 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' quite simply as a children's novel, investigating its narrative structure and analysing how Lewis Carroll successfully constructed a pioneering book for children that was to stand the test of time, remaining remarkably relevant to the present day. Contributor Bio:  Carroll, Lewis Lewis Carroll is the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898). He was an English author, mathematician, and photographer. His novels Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass were originally written for a little girl, but became extremely popular among adult readers. Contributor Bio:  Tenniel, John The many works of Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914) include many humorous and political cartoons for Punch and other periodicals of the time, but he is best known for his illustrations of the original editions of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Class.
