This volume is the first to list and identify all illustrations found in English manuscripts from about 1380 to 1509, beginning with a catalogue of the manuscripts in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. This first volume lists the manuscripts and catalogues the images in collections Additional to Digby and contains a reader's guide to the catalogue and to the categories of images. The book concludes with a detailed index of authors, texts and subjects.
