As a professional architect, Dan Brooks realized his childhood dream to design buildings. But his belief in working to make a community better by offering his time and energy in countless small ways motivated him to design solutions for his city's government as well. Persuaded to run for mayor, he couldn't believe that he won...but he stayed in office for 30 years. Answering challenges from his father, his wife and his political opponents, he left his mark on the city he adopted and grew to love. Under his leadership, North College Hill, Ohio was named one of the top towns in the United States "where homes are affordable" and "the best place in Ohio to raise kids."
