He stood triumphant. For twelve rounds the challenger had out boxed and outclassed the undefeated world champion. All that remained were the judges' anticlimactic decisions and the official coronation. Five years later he lies on a New York City street, begging for money and food. A tough, soft-souled cop reaches out to him, unaware the disheveled man he is helping was once boxing's golden boy. While the boxer battles the demons that drove his wife away and left his world in shambles, the cop wages a quiet war with his own personal loss.
