The Deportation Disaster: Unleashing Transnational Crime in the Americas

Over the last decade Central America has received the highest number of U. S. criminal deportations of any region in the world. At the same time Central America has become one of the most violent regions in the world, with several nations citing homicide rates that are among the world's highest. As the U. S. Government actively pursues stability in the region, it is in the interests of policymakers to reverse this dangerous trend before it threatens peace in the Americas.
