The book "Two Drops of a Rain" has two stories- Seventh Soul and Weathered Heart- of contemporary women and values. The first story SEVENTH SOUL is a story of a lonely love. Rapid and perfect recovery from a near-fatal injury in the lower spine of a beautiful young daughter in New York led the entire family in Bangalore into a quagmire of questions, distrust, and infidelity before pure and unflinching love offering the answer. The daughter's 'mission-truth' later trace the fact surprisingly to a remote village in rural Bengal. Does the story also open an area of research on how a single event could impact two people emotionally in such a different manner? The second story WEATHERED HEART revolves around the intense struggle and fighting spirit of a standard VII pass girl in the second decade of the last century in East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. A widow at the age of only 16 with two kids, followed by losing her teenage son in a freak accident, and a harsh mother-in-law, the unfortunate girl had enough reasons to break-down. However, her grit, determination and love for life saw her take over the responsibility to run the Zamindari and then an NGO, setting a silent social revolution about a hundred years back in rural Asia. Later she joined the liberation struggle and helped millions of poor and displaced refugees. In her untimely departure in sleep a few weeks later of a violent military coup, an untiring empathic soul bid goodbye to an unsung torturous life.
