Herndon Inge was a literature major at The University of the South, in Tennessee, graduating in 1971. He also earned a J. D. degree in 1974 from the Cumberland School of Law. Herndon is an experienced lecturer who has taught Family Law and Civil Law courses at Spring Hill College and at The University of South Alabama. He has been a frequent speaker for CLE programs on Family Law for the Family Law Sections of the Alabama State Bar, as well as the American Bar Association. He has been selected in Best Lawyers in America since 2010." Herndon has published articles in the Alabama Lawyer, the ABA's The Compleat Lawyer, the ABA's Child Support Prosecution Journal, Fair$hare, the Tennessee Family Lawyer, and AlabamaFamily Lawyer on various aspects of Family Law. Herndon served as Chairman of the Executive Committee and as Newsletter Editor of the Family Law Section of the Alabama State Bar and has been a fellow in The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1988. After 45 years as a trial lawyer, Herndon has recently retired. He and his wife of 41 years, Amanda, have two children: Edward and Caroline, and four grandchildren: Essie, Grace, Robert, and Blair. The Inges reside in Mobile, Alabama
