Set in 1862 in Salt Lake City, follow law officer Henry Heath as he finds himself responsible for the health of a prisoner whom he despises - a French immigrant called Jean Baptiste. Baptiste was convicted of robbing graves and was exiled to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. Heath becomes Baptistes only defence against the contempt from the entire community and an unlikely friendship begins to grow.
