She dreams of creating waves but lacks the willingness to stand out until her curious mind encounters Christian Penrose. When she agrees to team up with him for a project that fulfills both of their graduation requirements, it's a match made in heaven. It seems they have found in each other a creative soulmate. That is, until Emma falls in love. Despite Christian's muddled words begging her to not fall for him, Emma finds herself drawn to every ALS-ridden inch of her project partner. Emma's effort to respect Christian's wishes sends her into a downward spiral of lies and secrets, tearing her apart from within and creating a version of herself she doesn't understand.
