When Eric and Madeleine Little thought they could look forward to a new life with their first child, tragic circumstances prevented them from doing so. Now that Eric has abandoned all that he once knew and sought to find a new home away from the hustle of the city, he seeks to move on and find peace up north in the Highlands of Scotland. He has no idea, however, what lurks in the woods nearby the quiet village of Rosemarkie where he chose to settle, and of the coincidental links that chain the Littles to it.
