Greg Matthews has been condemned to an eternity of pain and suffering in the depths of a terrible hell. Forced into constant, meaningless, and brutal labor. Things take a turn for the even more unusual and cruel as, Jasper, the whimsical psychopath that lords himself over the community of damned souls, eyes Greg for a special project. Each year, a tournament of death is held, with the workers as competitors, that allows the winner to leave and return to the life they lived. Jasper wants Greg to fight for him. Make him do terrible things he never thought he was capable of. In return, Jasper would allow not only Greg himself, but his entire group of friends to leave should he win. But if he fails, he and all those he holds dear will live a much deeper definition of pain than thought possible.
