Haram can be translated into two separate meanings in the Arabic language; forbidden and sacred. As a young black Muslim poet living in America, this book showcases some of my stories of adversity and growth. These are stories that we often hide from our communities. Haram is a narrative for the young Muslim growing up in a tempting society, the young man trying to make sense of love, the black kid who feels alienated within his community, the youth who lost sight of God.
