Life isn't black and white. If we believe we have it all figured out, we stop looking for all of the wonderful layers yet uncovered. My wedding ring needed to be appraised for insurance purposes. While I was at the jeweler's, they polished it. When I got the ring back, it was absolutely spectacular, shinier than I knew was possible. I believe this is what occurs when we release beliefs and behaviors that hold us back or when we open ourselves to new ideas. We don't even realize what we're missing because we think everything is just fine the way it is. As we let go of what was in favor of what can be, we become so much more. I didn't request that my ring be polished because I thought it was already beautiful.
