Edna Marie Bailey-Dees was born in Yazoo City, MS to the Rosie Lees Street-Bailey and the late Eddie Bailey. She graduated from Lanier High School in Jackson, MS in 1972, and Jackson State University in 1975 with a Business Administration (BA), and in 1981 with a Master in Business Administration (MBA). Edna married James Dees in May 26, 1972 to this Air Force Military family a daughter and son whose names are Ja Mia R. Dees-Jennings and Ja Maal R. Dees were born. She graduated from Chapman University in 1990 with a Masters in Special Education (MBS). After teaching for twenty years and writing poetry as a special part time event Edna retired. Then time was spent on completing her first book. Greater Faith Church had a "Woman Workshop: Walking out Your Dream" hosted by Apostle Pam Benjamin. After writing down her dream as the other women had done, to her surprise! Apostle Pam instructed her daughter Preshous Bejamin, who is a renounced author as well, to use her Lap top computer (PC) and enter all Edna's information into the Xulon Press Publisher Company.
