Full of down home, easy to make dishes that have meaning and great taste. We did not have much growing up but, my mother was confident in the kitchen. She worked wonders with basic ingredients creating delicious meals for every day and holidays. This cookbook is a wonderful tribute to her creativity while raising a family in the rural south during the 1960s through the 1980's. She collected traditional southern recipes and added her own special touches. The result, dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. If you are from the south, you may be reminded of your own childhood kitchen and the great memories that were made there. If you were not raised in the south, this book will give you an idea of how we prepared food in Southern Arkansas. Simple and delicious is a great way to describe it!
