For countless millennia, relatedness has been the fulcrum of world politics, economics, society, psychology and technology. In this write-up, I demonstrate why and how globalization (a form of relatedness) is being replaced by connectedness as manifest in the way humanity organizes itself politically, economically, socially and emotionally. The world is herein best understood in terms of spatial position (space or geography) and non-spatial relationships. Non-spatial dimensions include gravity, electromagnetism, strong nuclear interaction, weak nuclear interaction, dark matter, dark energy, mental faculties, senses, emotions, time, life and death. Humans and other life-forms evolve, practice and learn to manipulate phenomena to stay alive. Human socio-political and economic configurations and the subsequent terrestrial squabbles informed by relatedness are frequently driven by the fear of death but ordinarily manifest as struggles for supremacy, resources and mating partners. Connectedness represents a sustainable form of global integration made possible by increased human awareness of our bond with the rest of the universe, and the consequent capacity to transform nature through relentless invention, innovation and deployment of new technologies to simplify daily lives and transform humanity by facilitating the collapse of natural and artificial boundaries across the world. Unlike globalization, global togetherness represents the total collapse of boundaries and divisions in the human society in the quest to protect life. Admirably, it appears both inanimate and animate realms have always conspired to constantly sustain life. And as life-forms manage to withstand extremes, chances are that, endless life may be achieved. So far, only the jellyfish is capably undying.
