M Is for Marching Clenece Hills

During her 40-year career as an English and drama teacher for high school students, Clenece Hills has written and directed more than 150 dramatic programs for students and community groups. Incorporating her love of poetry to celebrate Dr. King's legacy, she has created M Is for Marching as a candle lighting ceremony. Appropriate for one or multiple participants of any age, the program's poetry lends itself to a simple, read-aloud approach requiring no rehearsal. The program invites participants to bring their own flavor and interpretation to the poems, thus imbuing it with a dramatic message of diversity and hope. The program has been produced many times, and is very appropriate for Black History Month and Dr. King's birthday.
