In the sixteenth Spencer Hardesty adventure, it's a childhood friend of Spencer's with a child of her own that needs Spencer's expertise. He's on the move this time, chasing a runaway who's in the company of someone who's not at all what he seems and the fifteen year old girl has no idea of the danger she may be facing. Spencer's found a lot of runaways; that sort of case is a regular occurrence in his line of work. But he knows this girl and knows and loves her mother, so it's a little personal for him. Now the question is this; did she take off in the pursuit of true love? Or is the man in her young life a predator wearing an excellent mask? Spencer has to find out and find her before the reality of her situation becomes more dangerous than any fifteen year old girl could imagine. Will he make it?
