Manistee Encounters tells the story of three former high school friends who have not had contact with each other for over twenty years. Now, through a set of circumstances unknown to them, they stumble across each other in the town of Mesick in northern Michigan. They are each there for their own reasons. There they find how past and current choices have shaped their lives for better or for worse. While in Mesick, a renewal of a long open criminal investigation unfolds, a murder occurs, past lives are examined and a new unexpected, mature love takes root. Along the way we meet some eccentric folks such as the owner of The Mesick Inn, a couple who own a fly fishing lodge, the valve stem vigilante, a Chippewa beauty queen and others who add insight and humor.
