In his travels as a missionary in the village of Carries, Haiti, Cullen Vane saw abandoned shoes wherever he went to the point they almost became a ubiquitous part of the landscape. His documentation of the shoes became a short lived obsession as he photographed over 360 in just six days (and many more thereafter). ABANDONED chronicles over 250 of those shoes he found, each a little piece of artwork in the harsh and unforgiving landscape.
