Lucy a ten year old Brittney Spaniel/American Eskimo mix was dropped off at the local animal shelter after her owner had died. She was nervous and scared surrounded by larger barking dogs. Lucy has a mysterious background. She was the prettiest dog in the shelter and seemed more behaved than the rest of the dogs in the shelter. One family put their name down to adopt Lucy. When I knelt down beside Lucy and asked, "Do you want to come home with us?" She licked my face and I had a wave of emotion come over me. Minutes later the family withdrew their name and I found myself signing paperwork to adopt Lucy. Animals give us a sense of magic. They fill a spiritual void in our lives. Each of us have special experiences where animals have brought us joy. Pets often become members of our families. They take their place as a special member of the family. The loyalty, friendship, and love pets give us keep us centered in a stress filled world. Wild animals unlock some of the instinctual part of our brains that allows us to access the peacefulness of nature. This book gives the true story of Lucy and many other animals in the author's life.
