This book is a personal finance book like no other: it contains very few numbers. Lord knows we have plenty of books that do. This book is also rather short because the message is a fairly simple one. We will describe many of the quantitative aspects of personal finance, but the biggest obstacle to investor success remains the investor himself. We are human, and as humans, we are naturally wired to eschew pain. So is the individual investor simply doomed to fail? Not at all.
