Yet like all gifts, someone must bequeath it to us. What follows is the story of Daniel Carson, a boy from a world very much like our own but also different in its own way. For in this world, hidden in the shadows, beings of legends played games of life and death. Forces beyond our comprehension engaged in an unending struggle for supremacy. Once Daniel learned a truth about himself, he became immersed in a life of magic and new realities. Paired with his own companion, a dragon by the name of Night, he unknowingly became a pawn in the final game. When it's discovered that Daniel holds within him a power rivaling the gods, he finds himself pushed to the edge by those wanting to use his power for their own purposes. Unable to fully trust those who called him friend, Daniel is forced to make impossible choices; choices which, in the end, result in unintended consequences for those he swore to protect.
