In this book, I take you on a journey through my own dark experiences and how I was able to break free from the shame of my past. Taking off your makeup means to remove all the tactics we use to cover blemishes and flaws we wish to hide from others. It means to be transparent in order to experience freedom. What is it about being completely vulnerable that makes us uncomfortable? Adam and Eve unsuccessfully tried to hide their shame, but it was God who ultimately provided their covering. We all have things in our lives that we are not proud of, but God covers our shame. Once I decided to take off my "makeup" I found freedom and beauty in my imperfections.
