Middlesex County in New Jersey became a political entity in 1682. As soon as the pioneers has organized this county, they provided a court system for it. The original court minutes book was found in the attic of the Clerk's office and was originally published as a series of articles in The New Brunswick Sunday Times. The material has been revised, enlarged, and re-arranged as originally published. All spelling has been modernized except for instances were verbatim repetition is made.
