"Milonga, with ineffable tenderness..." could be the biography of several people, and although part of this work is product of the imagination, the places where the novel developed are not. This is the dramatic story of an intrepid romance that challenged the hordes of the Argentine militarism of the Seventies. During those unfortunate days, the Argentine Republic was afflicted by a fratricidal struggle where the terrorism of the right, using the "national security" as pretext and with all the governmental machinery in its power, untied a wave of terror against subversive suspects, culminating in thousands of kidnappings, tortures and disappearances in which, the innocent as well as the guilty ones, became victims of their excesses. The cruel persecution caused great anxiety in the Argentine people. In the center of the political vortex were four people, who the circumstances of the moment unexpectedly involved them: Malena Martorelli, who tried to protect her dance academy in Buenos Aires and the property where it was located; her mother, Teresa, an activists of "the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo" who suffered the loss of a son; Alfredo Campos, businessman, persecuted by a perverse colonel of the Armed Forces, and Vincent Moran, an American, executive of a cosmetic company, that unconsciously is dragged into the politico-social whirlpool during the ominous days of the "Argentine Dirty War". This is not a political story, but rather the story of the brave struggle of those men and women to survive under the adverse conditions of so immoral tyranny, and the clear reflection of what a South American military group, rotten to the core, can cause to defenseless human beings. After the horrifying military terrorist campaign, the question remained: Who truly prevailed in that final conflict of the "Dirty War"?: the Military?: the city?: the leftist rebels? or, our protagonists? The question can be answered by the facts expressed in "Milonga."
