Aspiring professional golfer Lisa Johanssen is a twenty-one-year-old, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, athletically trim beauty. She crowns her amateur career by winning the Indiana Women's Open championship. Looking on as Lisa accepts the trophy is Hank Detmer, the fifty-year-old tournament director who is also Lisa's trusted mentor. He invites her to a celebratory dinner, but his true motivation to be alone with Lisa comes from his dark, domineering side. He drugs her with a champagne toast, then rapes and brutalizes her. She awakens to the horror of the aftermath in a ravaged hotel suite the next morning. Lisa, now using the name Marcie Norstrum, works diligently on her golf game, and befriends Neil Fineman, a down-and-out sports and entertainment lawyer, and Sara Tompkins the Controller of a large automobile dealership specializing in high-end sports cars. Employing virtuoso powers of deception and seduction, she recruits both Neil and Sara to participate in The Plan. In addition to being captivated by Marcie's charisma, crises in each of their professional careers incline them to go along. Neil has lost his license to practice law, and Sara has been assigned a new boss, who is the quintessential male chauvinist pig. Set amidst the steamy, beautiful local color of South Florida, the dark-hearted, calculating Lisa learns firsthand what it really means to "Meet Her Match."
