In Divided Together 2084, two widowed people, a Christian and a Muslim, fight crime in a fictional Muslim country, the Great Peninsula Nation. The Christian man (Farhan) and the Muslim woman (Akilah) are criminology professors at the local university.

Interwoven with Farhan and Akilah's lunch meetings, when they discuss their cases and differing beliefs, are the activities of the New Tehran police's life-protection task force, of which they are members.

During the women-murderer's cooling-off period, the group tries to catch black-market abortionists because of strict abortion laws and an angel of death killing Alzheimer's patients. They also try to protect the USA President during his state visit.

befriends his next-door neighbor. While Farhan shares with Muhammad some of his life, policemen arrest him for trying to convert him. A civil court judge convicts him of proselytizing and sentences him to community service.

Also, the task force meets informally in each other's homes to develop the closeness that will make them a better team. When Detective Srour hosts the task force, he shows them his collection of British police tools.



Then, two Muslim boys find the body dump.



Meanwhile, Akilah's college friend Shirley Jones moves to New Istanbul and meets Farhan. On their first date, Farhan and Shirley kiss in public, a misdemeanor for which they do community service. Farhan and Shirley date and marry.



Finally, Shirley jogs through the palms. First Detective Srour, the head of the task force and the serial killer, overpowers her. The task force captures him, and Farhan gives the final clue to convict him. A firing squad ends Srour's life



On Shirley and Farhan's trip north to escape the summer heat, Farhan and a lawyer foil terrorist-thieves' hijacking of their train.
