Darla Ballinger is looking forward to a week in the Connecticut countryside at the mansion of Charles and Paula Patton. The week promises at ï¬rst to be an enjoyable one as several friends and family have gathered to celebrate Paula's birthday. However, when letters threatening Charles start appearing in the mansion, the happy picture quickly falls apart. Attempted poisoning, traps, injury, and death culminate in surprising revelations of a dark, murderous secret and a subsequent plot of revenge.
