The year is 1803, and a married couple are living a peaceful life in their rural village in the Highlands of Scotland. Content with their croft and what little they possess in material wealth; they lack only one thing - a child to call their own. Little do they know the encroaching English - will soon change everything. They are ultimately driven from their ancestral home and land. Together, they must make a new life for themselves in Glasgow, where there is no place for farmers and the streets are teeming with desperation and poverty. little did they know they were the lucky ones - as the people they meet and help, and love - are in far more desperate situation thanks to the colonial powers and the slave trade. The bonds they forge are destined to become deeper than blood. From the Author During the writing of this book there are unknown vintage pictures of the long gone. I have chosen to bring some of these unknown individuals to life as characters in the writing of this book.
