This is a story of a man and his wife living life with an incurable disease and thriving together when life doesn't turn out as expected. Donnie tells the story of his life, his conversion and his marriage. He tells about when Cheryl developed Multiple Sclerosis and this disease's progression and affect on their lives. This is a profound story of hope, endurance and optimism when the storms of life are strong but when you have a stronger God who walks with you every step of the way. It's a story of how you stay the course, persevere and endure. It's a love story. It's about a husband that loves his wife like Christ loved the church and would give his very life for her. And, in turn, it's a story of a wife who encourages, cares and loves her husband deeply. Both of them embrace all of God's Word but hold dear His words from Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Donnie was born and raised in the cotton fields of South Georgia and is the 7th of 9 children. After graduating from Southern Technical Institute he joined the United States Navy. He met the love of his life, Cheryl, at 19 years old. She shared the Gospel with him and He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in that same year. They've been married for over 50 years, have three grown sons, six grandchildren and reside in Flowery Branch, GA.
