It all began with a conversation. It was a lovely late spring evening and my husband and I were considering where our life together was going. The kids were well on their own. Our grandchildren were in college and/or on their way. We were settled comfortably into a life of part time work and travel and expectations of new adventures. On the other hand we realized that the house was now too big for just the two of us and its upkeep was taking more time and energy than we wanted to expend. We began to explore our possibilities. We needed to make decisions. Do we move or stay put? What do we tell the family? Can we afford to retire now? And most importantly what will we do?
