Twenty years ago we began this research project at the request and support of an editor at the Naval Institute Press on the campus of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. Recently we were privileged to see the United States Naval Academy in conjunction with the Ancient Order of Hibernians dedicate the Commodore John Barry Memorial Gate and Plaza.
