Lucia is so excited to travel with her family for the Spring Break vacation. But after she leaves her beloved dog, Roxy, in her aunt's care, the furry family member decides to take matters into her own paws and escape from her temporary home.

Gabrielle is a teacher who lives in another section of the city. As her Spring Break begins, she and a friend decide to take a walk in a park. When Gabrielle and her friend see something moving in the middle of the park lake, they soon realize it is a small dog and rescue it. But when their attempts to reach the owner fail, Gabrielle cannot help but quickly fall in love with Roxy. When Lucia learns that Roxy has disappeared, she is heartbroken.
