My memoir, That's Just Me, followed my dream of becoming a doctor from my humble beginnings in my hometown of Guyana to studying for my medical degree in communist Russia, to practicing medicine in the Bahamas, where I consulted for the rich, the famous, and the poor with equal attention and care provided for all. It is also my own story of triumphs, tragedies, moments of confidence, and moments of deep self-doubt as I wrestled with the larger questions of human existence, dignity, and freedom. And underneath it all is an epic love story spanning decades. I have studied beyond just my M. D. as well, spending time studying metaphysics, comedy and magic, and delving into spirituality and atheism, capitalism and communism, psychology and meditation. My life experiences have provided me with a wide range of perspectives that have allowed me to help people of all colors, from all economic levels and all walks of life. I have no doubt that there is something profound in my story for you.
