One Lil Indian in the Adventures of Oli series introduces us to a nine-year-old Native American girl who just wants to have a normal family vacation someplace other than her own backyard. Oli dreams of traveling to far away places like she has read about in school. She dreams so much that there have been times she wakes up feeling as if she's actually been flying. But how can that be? A family vacation is the furthest thing in the minds of Oli's parents; they've been keeping a secret from Oli and they have to tell her about it before some very special visitors arrive and spill the beans. Meanwhile, deep in the surrounding forest the animals are feeling anxious. They know that Oli and her parents both have secrets and they know what those secrets are. They love Oli because she has a special way with each and every one of them. As the forest floor begins to rumble, they know that their world and the world of their little friend is about to change forever.
